The Him Jyoti school started as a dream of our Founder, Late Shri Sudarshan Agarwal (Former Governor of Uttarakhand and Sikkim) in 2005 with 15 girls. Working relentlessly with the purpose of empowering girls from economically deprived areas, we remain committed in our efforts to expand our reach to every village in Uttarakhand.

The Him Jyoti school is a home away from home for girls who come from remote areas of Uttarakhand. The girls follow a thoughtfully created schedule that includes Academics, Sports, and Co-curricular Activities in a loving and nurturing environment.
The school is affiliated with the CBSE board and follows the curriculum prescribed by the board for classes V to XII. The medium of instruction is English. Each year girls do very well academically and receive scholarships for graduate placements.
The school offers outdoor and indoor sports facilities- football, volleyball, javelin, badminton, table tennis, athletics, basketball, yoga, meditation, and zumba. There is a full-time physical education teacher and dedicated coaches for various sports.
These activities are integral to the holistic development of girls at Him Jyoti School. There are various clubs to provide girls the opportunity to choose their hobbies such as music, dance, debating, pottery, gardening, photography, art, and theatre.

The Him Jyoti School is the fruition of the noble thought of promoting girls’ education in Uttarakhand as envisaged by Late Sudarshan Agarwal.
Founded in 2005, the Him Jyoti School has carved a niche for itself as the only free residential institution with state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities providing education to the bright girls from impoverished families of Uttarakhand.
